1. So now in The Compound Eli has finally had it with all of these secrets kept from his dad and he now knows it is up to him now to find out what is going on. Eli's first discovery is his brother's room which looks exactly like his except for his computer which is the old kind from the old world. Then he's caught by his mom but she lets him go along with the computer. Next Eli keeps checking out rooms that he has never noticed and he finds all sorts of new things. He even starts to remember the past and when the day when they left for the compound when a war broke out and his brother was lost along with his grandmother.

2. This book has just gotten a whole lot more interesting now that Eli has gotten a lot more curious about his surroundings. He has really changed as a character going from a kid who would usually avoid people and not ask questions. Has all of the sudden decided to find out whats going on with the new world and if its ok or not along with his brother. Who he still has a connection with and believes he's still out there and that the world is over with the war.

3. Now I think that the theme of this book has changed from hope to the desire to escape. This is because of Eli's curiousness and how he thinks that the world might be ok now.  He really wants to get out of the compound and find out whats going on up in the real world also to see if his brother is ok and the rest of the people and things of the world are ok. This is because of the brother hood bond that he feels with his brother and also because of all the clues he's finding out about around the inside of the compound.

4. Still I think my favorite character is Eli especially now that he has gotten more intrigued by these clues all over the compound which are giving him more of an idea that the world is ok and that his brother is still alive. So now I'm hoping that Eli will eventually find enough and get some more courage to stand up to his dad and finally leave the compound and figure it all out.

5. I still think my least favorite character is the dad and this time he's gotten a lot worse. Mostly because he won't be with his family more and also because when ever Eli try's to find stuff out his dad pushes him back down so its getting harder for Eli to be able to find out whats going on now that his dad is keeping him back all the time.

6. I think that eventually Eli will be able to defeat his dad at keeping him back and be able to go get some more information about the new world. Also that he will get enough info so that he can leave the compound with his family and be able to go see whats going on and try and find out if his brother is ok or not. This is what I predict is going to happen in the rest of the book.
