1.
I am currently at the beginning at the novel so not much has happened in the book.
What has happened in the novel is, after separating from the rest of the group
Pippin and Gandalf arrived in Gondor. After being interrogated by the
Lord of Gondor Pippin is shown around the city by one of the soldiers. After
being shown around the city they hear that other people are arriving to help
with the up coming battle. Then the story
shifts to the other half of the company.
Where they have just regrouped after a battle and have to make a
decision on what way they go to Gondor.
2.
I feel like the book has lots of detail, most of the time too much detail. Most
of the book is details so it takes a while to read. It takes a lot of will
power to read the book, but when you finish a chapter or a big scene you
remember it well. This book gives you many details but it is hard to remember
them all. IF it wasn’t for the details I think that people wouldn’t remember
the series as well and so many people wouldn’t read it. I also think it is one
of the characteristics that make the novel what it is.
3.
I think the theme of the book is separation. The group has been separated and
they are making plans that they might separate again. The whole book revolves
around the fact that the company has been separated. If the group wasn’t
separated the reader wouldn’t know what the people in the company was thinking
and how the other countries are preparing for the upcoming war.
4.
My favorite character in the novel is
probably Aragorn. He is a natural leader and helps the group in battle and
decide where to go. If it wasn’t for Aragorn I think that the company wouldn’t
have survived for as long as they did. Aragorn helps the group decide what
paths to take and he protects the group very well. Aragorn also helps the group
make decisions, when they cant make up their mind Aragorn always knows what the
right thing to do is and leads them on.
5.
My least favorite character is The Lord of Gondor. He is very over powering and
he doesn’t want to give up the throne for the real king. He wants his son to
continue to be the Lord of Gondor after him. When Gandalf and Pippin where talking to the
king the king interrogated Pippin about the rest of the company and the job of
the company. I feel like that the Lord of Gondor tries to control other people too
much.
6. What I think will happen next is, The company
that is trying to get to Gondor will separate and one half will go the slower
way and the other half the faster and more dangerous way. I think that Aragorn
will lead the group that is leading the more dangerous way. I think he will do this
because he is willing to sacrifice himself to help save the rest of the
company. If that means sacrificing himself on the more dangerous path to get
the others back to safety he will do that.
