The fault in our stars

There is this girl named Hazel Lancaster and she has caner. Hazel has cancer in her lungs so it makes it hard for her to breather so she always has an oxygen tank with her.  She is starting to go to this support group where they talk about how they are feeling and where they are for treatment. Hazel meets some people there like Isaac.  Isaac goes to this support group because he has cancer in his eye and he may go blind soon.  He and Hazel just talk.  So at the support group the leaders name is Patrick.  When Hazel goes to this meeting she sees this boy, his name is Augustus Waters.  He went to this group for Isaac because they are friends.  Augustus had something in his leg so he’s not the best at driving. After the meeting Augustus asks Hazel to go to his house and they don’t even know each other very well. She says no. Then her mom comes and she says I’m going to Augustus Waters house.  So they are in the car and Augustus isn’t very good at driving because of his leg.  So they get to his house and on the walls of his house are engorgement sayings.  She meets his parents and she stays for dinner and after her and Augustus goes and watches a movie.

I think this is a very good book so far. It shows how life it is for people who have cancer.  I think that it’s sad about Hazel how she has cancer and that she has to go through this.  I feel that no one should have to go through that much pain.  Its also really sad that she has trouble breathing and that she has to carry a tank around wherever she goes.  This book also shows how strong these people are for not giving up and moving forward.

I think that the theme of this book is staying strong even when things go wrong.  Like how hazel keeps going every day.  I think she’s very strong.  Her and all the people that go to the support group are very strong.  I think who is also strong is her parents because when they had to see if she could be unplugged from a machine and when they had to unplug they watched her not being able to breath very well.

I think my favorite character is Hazel because she is they one I know mostly about and she is very brave because when she was being unplugged in the hospital they didn’t know if she was going to live or die.

I don’t have a least favorite character because I have only been introduced to three characters that have really been described to me. I think that all the characters that I have been introduced to are very nice and they all have things in common like they all have some sort of cancer.

I think in the end that Hazel will be very sick in the hospital and die and I think that Isaac will be blind and get his sight back and I don’t know what will happen to Augustus, maybe I will be able to predict further in my blogs.

  1. Dear Hannah,

I really liked your blog post! The book The Fault in our Stars is on my someday list! You made me want to keep this book on my someday list because you explained how interesting it is. I really liked your second prompt because you explained in details how good it was and you expressed how you personally felt about the book. I thought your theme paragraph was good. A better theme might have been just staying strong instead of staying strong even when things go wrong. I think this is a very good theme though, it really goes with the book. I thought you could have explained where in the book this theme occurs in more depth. Besides from that fact you did prove your point well. Overall, the explanation of the book was really good!
