1. In the ending of the book Molly is just fixing up some of the costumes before the play in the costume room. Shelby sneaks backstage and gives something to Molly. She gives Molly a package with a note on it. Molly reads it and she is found horrified. Someone had sent the picture of Molly and Teddy (Molly's friend) hugging to Hey! (a magazine like People) with an article. It said how Molly was cheating on her boyfriend Danny who lives back in Indiana. But Hey! even interviewed Danny about it! Right at that moment Brooke walks in. Molly realizes that the only one who had that photo was Brooke. They all get in this huge argument and Molly kicks out Shelby and Brooke out of the costume room. Brooke tries to tell Molly that she would explain why she accidentally sent the photo to Hey! after the play but Molly storms off. Molly calls a taxi and packs her bag to go back to Indiana. Once she gets back to Indiana she goes off to find Danny and explains to him that she was just making up with Teddy so they hugged and they're just friends. Danny believes her but they both think they should break up because they live so far away. Before Molly flies back to LA she visits her mom's grave and her old best friend surprises her by visiting her. The book ends with Brooke and her dad Brick driving to Indiana to pick up Molly in an old RV. They are having fun together without being interrupted by Brick's business calls.
2. I thought the book was really good! It was hard to understand at the beginning of the book because of there were lots of words I didn't know mixed in with the descriptions of characters which made it very hard to understand the characters until later into the book. I thought the plot was really good because it seemed realistic but drama filled. This book really made me think about it when not reading like if I wanted something but my parents said no. The characters could just buy whatever they wanted whenever! The plot also kept me interested because something exciting was happening or you could tell it was going to happen. I could tell which author wrote what though because one author was really descriptive and fancy but the other was creative and fun. They were so different but they split the book perfectly based on their writing skills. I haven't read any books before by any of the authors but I definitely will try to read their sequel!
3. I thought the theme in Spoiled was Betrayal. In the book Shelby befriended Molly when she was being bullied by Brooke. Later Shelby goes over to Molly's house and uses Brooke's laptop pretending to do homework but she actually looks at Brooke's personal stuff and finds tons of unsent emails to Brooke's mom that left her at a young age. Later Brooke and Molly bond and they become friends. They start sharing secrets and Brooke tells Molly about all of the unsent emails. The next morning Shelby announces to the whole school about all of the emails. Brooke become furious and thinks Molly told Shelby about them but Shelby actually stole them! Later that day Molly goes up to Shelby and tells her how selfish and mean she is. Shelby completely betrayed Molly. The theme betrayal also comes up in the ending of the book which I explained in question 1.
4. My favorite character in this book was Brooke because she was mean and spoiled at first but as soon as Molly and her became friends she revealed her true self. She's actually very fragile, lonely, and caring. Lot's of people look up to her so she has to act strong and perfect. I learned that she really needs a mom! She had no one to talk to because Brick was always off on work trips or working. She also was jealous of Molly at first because Brick would spend all of his very little free time going out to dinner, or taking just Molly places.
5. My least favorite character is Shelby. Shelby is spoiled. Shelby uses people to get revenge and that's why no one likes her. She also is a know it all because her dad owns Hey! and she gets all of the latest gossip before the magazine comes out. Shelby thinks that she's famous and perfect just because her dad, which isn't true because Hey! cut her out of a picture when she was hanging out with Molly. Every single day she dresses and acts like she's 20 even though she's just a kid!
6. The ending was not what I had expected. I kind of guessed that Molly and Brooke would become friends in the end though because they were gradually becoming nicer to each other. But I did not expect Shelby to get back at them one last time though. And the most surprising was that Molly actually flew back to Indiana for just a little article/ photo that wasn't true! She could of easily called Danny on the phone. I thought Molly also kind of over reacted to the story because she wanted to break up with Danny anyways. I liked the last chapter of Brooke and Brick driving to Indiana because Brooke and Brick were acting like normal people! They were also bonding with each other. I bet Brooke hasn't had any alone time with Brick in a long time so I felt happy for her. Overall the ending was really good and I hope Messy has a ending that too!
