1. Right now in The Stand, two boys named The Trashcan Man and The Kid are on a journey to find the Dark Man. Trashcan just met up with The Kid while he was riding his bike to find this Dark Man, who he had dreamed about. In his dreams, this man said that he would place Trashcan in high authority, so Trashcan was eager to get to him. When he met up with The Kid, he found out that he was also going to the Dark Man. The Kid is very rude and forceful to Trashcan, and forces him to do things by threating him with a gun. As they are on their trip west to the Dark Man, they get stuck in a huge traffic jam. This traffic jam is worst than most because everyone in the cars is dead so it is more like a no-moving traffic jam. Trashcan and The Kid get out of the car and start walking to see how long the traffic jam is, and it is starting to get late at night. But on their way, they meet up with wolves that are aggressive toward The Kid and obedient to Trashcan. The Kid ends up hiding in a car, where the wolves wait for him to get out to attack him. Some of the other wolves go with Trashcan to continue the journey onward, and he successfully makes it through the traffic jam, where he finds a bike to continue his journey.
2. So far, I like the book. The characters are interesting and  different. Each character is exciting in his or her own way. For example, The Kid is very forceful and threating, Mother Abigail is a good, nice leader, and Joe is mentally disabled. Also, the plot is very busy and interesting. While some people are trying to join with Mother Abigail, others and joining with The Dark Man. I think of it as a good and bad side. The only thing that makes this book challenging for me is the many different plots. Each group of people have their own plots, and it is hard to keep track of everyone and their story.
3. One theme in The Stand is good versus evil. The "good side" is leaded by Mother Abigail, and the "bad side" is leaded by The Dark Man, or Randall Flagg.  The sides are starting to join up right now, and the bad side has hundreds of people, while the good side only has about ten. The side started through dreams. Some of the main characters were having similar dreams about these leader and where they were located. Most of the main characters wanted to get to Mother Abigail, but were afraid of The Dark Man because the dreams about him where always hellish, and he had red eyes, and no face. But, for example, Trashcan Man felt the opposite. He liked the dreams about The Dark Man, who said that Trashcan was important to him in the dreams. But when he had a dream of Mother Abigail, he was a weasel, and Mother Abigail screamed at him because she was afraid. Now in the story, the sides are joining together, and the good side is running away from the more powerful side.
4. My favorite character right now is Trashcan. He is a very interesting character, and also very obedient.  He thinks of himself as a slave to Randall Flagg/ The Dark Man. He always says "my life for him", him being Randall. He is also very obedient; he will do anything if someone asks him to do it, even when he isn't being threatened by a gun or something. Lastly, he has lots of perseverance. He never quit biking o his journeys to the Dark Man, and biking across half the country doing it. Also, he walked over miles of traffic when the car he was using couldn't get through. So Trashcan is a very interesting character because of his obedience and perseverance.
5. My least favorite character is, (or now "was", since he is out of the story from being trapped by the wolves) The Kid. He is my least favorite character because he is very mean to Trashcan. He forces him to do things with a gun, and calls him mean things, like "happy crappy". He thinks of himself as the leader, and gives all the hard work to Trashcan. Also, he has threatened to kill him multiple times with his pistol.
6. I predict that the good side and bad side will end up meeting each other, and they will fight. I believe this because the good side has been having threatening dreams about the Dark Man, and the dreams give off a message saying he wants to kill them. For example, one of the dreams that Mother Abigail was like this. In the dream, she was sitting on her porch with freshly cut chicken at night, and weasels started surrounding her to get it. The weasels were hissing at her and slowly coming closer, trapping her in their circle. Then she saw to red eyes behind them, of the Dark Man. When the two sides fight, I predict is will be a battle that doesn't end fast.
