1. Right now I am reading the book The Compound by S.A. Boden. This book is about a boy his name is Eli and him and his Mom, Dad and two sister's all live in a place that there dad built which is called the compound. Now Eli and his family had to go into the compound because of a terrible nuclrear war that happened.  Since his dad was an insanely wealthy and extremely intelligent scientist he was able to make the compound one day off of a superstition that he had that a war would break out and it happened.  So Eli and his family have been liveing there for about six years now and its the same routine every day for Eli. He wakes up at seven then works out in the weight room and then plays basketball which he's getting really good at. Then he showers and has breakfast and so on but, Eli is still wondering whats going on with the world out side of the compound. Especially his brother Eddy who did not make it to the compound, and he still thinks that Eddy is still alive.

2. I think so far in this book that the the whole plot around it has pulled me in and that its so intriuging that I just want to keep reading it. Its just that  I like these kinds of stores where theres a mystery and it keeps you on your toes. I also enjoy this book because its like nothing I have ever read with the whole war and shelter thing that they have to live in and do the same routine every day. This is also because of the authors writing its just good that I want to read more.

3. I think a good theme for this book would be hope since you can find it in so many ways in this book. Like how Eli is hoping that his brother is still alive somewhere out there in the world. Since Eli has such a strong connection with his brother he still thinks he's out there. Also how most of the family is hoping that the will be safe eventually so that they don't have to live like this anymore. Most of the family does't really like to have to keep doing the same routine over and over again.  The dad is probably hoping that they can stay in the compound since he spent a long time and a lot of money on the compound.

4. So far in the book Eli is my favorite character because I can relate to him in the way of being the older brother.  Since he has to deal with two younger siblings in basically the same ways I do like helping them in life.  I also like Eli because he's very respectable especailly to his dad because his dad has always told his kids not to ask questions or really bother him when he's working. So Elis the kind of person that knows how to take care of himself and his younger siblings like me.

5. I don't really enjoy the dads role in the story because he's the kind of person that does so much work that you never get to see him very often.  Since he's has such a hard proffession and has to work  along time every day his kids never really hear from him. Thats also why he has so many roles like don't ask quetions and so the kids get no say in any thing which is why its not very fun for them in the compound . If they could have some more rules they would be able to have a better time in the compound instead of being so down in it.

6. So I think that eventually in the book some is going to find out whats really going on with the real world. I think this person would be Eli because of his strong connection with his brother and how he believes he's still alive out there. This will happen when he finds out about a message from a computer or phone telling Eli that the new world is okay.  I also think that the dad is going to try and stop him from leaving since that would mea leaving the compound with he has worked so hard on to live in. That would mean abandoning the compound and the work would be for nothing to him.
