1. I am currently reading Rage Within, by Jeyn Roberts. Right now I am at the part Aries, Raj, and Clementine are attacking the Baggers prison. Earlier in the book Mason and Daniel were captured by the baggers and brought to this work camp and are held as prisoners. This part is very exciting, because the characters are finally able to get back at the baggers, killing many, and also could get their group members back. A few months back, baggers, who are crazy, killing humans, take over the world. Their first attack is a massive earthquakes that wipes out most of the Earths population. The survivors are hunted down and either killed or captured. For now Aries and her group are hiding out in Vancouver in a mansion with no water and barely any food. Everyone in their group has lost someone close and it is only a matter of time before the baggers come and execute them all. The format of this book I think is very interesting. Every chapter is in a different point of view. One chapter for example is named Aries, another is names Mason. All of the members of this group, lead by Aries, is a teenager coming from all different parts of Canada, and the US. The reason for all of this mayhem and devastation is a little unknown and I still am not sure about the baggers. What they really are and how they became killing monsters. Hopefully all of the confusion as a reader will vanish as I finish the book.
2. So far I really like Rage Within. I enjoy the plot and I
especially like the characters. On reason that I really like the plot is the
way there are always unexpected events that go on throughout the groups missons.
One example of this is when Clementine goes looking for her brother and she
meets a new group. She becomes friends with this group and it completely changes
the path of the story. These kind of events keep me interested in the story. Characters are also a key part making this book one of my favorites. Roberts describes the charaters very well so the reader can completely understand them. Each chapter is entirely written from a characters point of view. I especially like this because in most other books I feel like I never truly new characters, so the way Roberts writes each chapter helps me a lot.
3. The theme that is apparent throughout the entire book is adventure. Every aspect of this book seems to be filled with adventure. In the first scene Roberts depicts is about Mason and his friends climbing a train bridge and jumping off into shallow water. When one of his friends fall in he dives in and saves his life. From the beginning I knew that this would be an adventure filled book. Every chapter has a different adventure that I am always curious about. What will happen will they get killed or will they succeed? The adventure always poses questions for the reader.
4. My favorite character is Mason. From all the characters in this book mason Is my favorite because he is courageous, funny, and he is very strong. No matter what the situation is Mason always is strong and a natural leader. When Mason was captured by the baggers he showed his incredible strong character. When the baggers tortured him to try and get information of where his group was living he didn't give in. Another reason that I really like Mason is his humor. He always seems to have a funny side to it. Not just is he funny he just seems very rich in character. Through all the pain all the group members suffered none of them want to be romantic, but Masons strong character can put the past beside and still be romantic.
5.Through all the characters that have been introduced in the book I can honestly say that I don't have one that I don't like. All the characters personalities vary so much. One person is the natural leader, another is the funny guy. The variety is good and everyone I enjoy. Even the strict characters I like because I gives the group the strength they need to survive the current struggles.
6. One prediction I have, is that Clementines brother isn't going to met with Clementine. The reason I think this is because It seems too good to be true that one of the teenagers from Clementines group finds him. Even the group member, Michael, says this in the book. Another thing that I predict is that Daniel, who is in the Prison with Mason, will escape while Clementine, Raj and the other group members are attacking. I think this because Daniel doesn't have a tracking device on his ankle but Mason does. I don't think that Mason would risk the lives of all the group members just to escape from the prison.
